The FAA handles all blocking requests through the Limiting Aircraft Data Displayed (LADD) program. Aircraft blocked through the former Blocked Aircraft Registry Request (BARR) program have been transitioned to the FAA LADD program.
The FAA coordinates with all ASDI vendors to have your aircraft registration number blocked from their respective programs. Blocking the aircraft registration at the Subscriber Level removes the aircraft registration from aircraft flight data. With Subscriber Level Blocking, you can subscribe to FltPlan.com’s Premium Flight Tracking service to track your aircraft.
For a higher level of security, operators may choose to block their aircraft flight data at the FAA Source Level to remove aircraft flight data before it is transmitted to ASDI vendors. This means the information never reaches any ASDI vendor and is not incorporated into their system. Blocking at this level will prevent you from tracking your blocked tail number.
Requests for blocking can be made by mail, email, or online. Visit https://ladd.faa.gov/ for more information and to submit your request via the FAA’s online form
